The Indiana Department of Health today announced the appointment of 12 new members to the Governor’s Public Health Commission, which was established last month by Governor Eric J. Holcomb to study Indiana’s public health system and make recommendations for improvement. The appointees include elected officials, public health professionals and other key health stakeholders from across the state.
Last night at approximately 8:24 p.m., Indiana State Police and Posey County Sheriff’s Office responded to a three-vehicle crash on SR 165 approximately ½ mile north of I-64. When officers arrived, they discovered two of the drivers involved were husband and wife and alcohol was a contributing factor.
In a letter to congressional leaders, Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita warns that a reckless piece of legislation under consideration on Capitol Hill “would allow the United States Department of Justice to usurp the authority states rightly possess over their own elections, essentially federalizing the election system.”
Ross Peter with his second straight extra base hit brings home Connor Foley and Eli Hopf. Grant Stratton went the distance getting his 13th win as Jasper defeated Fishers 3-1 to win their sixth State Championship and first in 4A.
Ethan Bell knocks home Carson Niehaus and Colson Montgomery for the only runs Southridge needed. Bell also pitched a complete game two hit shutout with 76 pitches as Southridge shutout Hanover Central 2-0. Southridge is 3A State Champion.
Carter Stamm from Jasper High School pitches the ninth and gets the win as the Dubois County Bombers go to 9-1 with an 8-6 win over the Madisonville Miners. Stamm has yet to give up a run this year. The Bombers at 9-1 have the best record in the OVL.
