Anna Alstadt will run Track at Akron
Anna Alstadt Southridge Senior Track and Volleyball standout has executed a National Letter of Intent to run Track at the University of Akron in Akron Ohio. Alstadt had many Volleyball and Track achievements at Southridge. In Volleyball she played in the East West Allstar match, tied a single match record for blocks and was the MVP with most kills and blocks. In Track she was all conference and Sectional 400 meter champion and has the school redord in the 400 meters. At Akron she will pursue a degree in Supply Chain/Operations Management.

NE Dubois Bauer to play baseball at Wabash College
NE Dubois Senior multi sports standout Reece Bauer announces he will play baseball at Wabash College in Crawfordsville Indiana. You can hear Reece on the Sports Friday on WITZ FM and witzamfm.com

Young takes over for Connor at Vincennes Lincoln
Former Vincennes Rivet Coach Tim Young has been named the new girls basketball coach at Vincennes Lincoln. Young was 223-27 in ten years at Rivet. He had five state finals appearances in ten years and his team won the 2011 state championship. Young replaces Travis Connor, who retired. Connor's Alices were 19-5 last season. His record at Vincennes Lincoln was 132-88.

Tecumseh names new Head Football Coach
Tecumseh High School has named Brett Szabo their new Head Football Coach. He replaces Jeff Daming who took the top spot at South Spencer. Szabo has most recently been Head Coach at Evansville North and won a Sectional Championship as Head Coach at Bedford North Lawrence.

OVL Cancels season
In a prepared statement OVL President John Bruce announced cancellation of the 2020 season. The League met in a video conference Saturday and after looking over all options and trying to put some sort of season together. It was decided to cancel. The vote was very close 5-4.

IHSAA Physicals 2020-21
Indiana High School Athletic Association will waive the provisions of Rule 3-10 for the 2020-21 school year.

Andy Lasher named new Head Baseball Coach at Oakland City University
Former Dubois County Bomber Coach and University of Evansville standout Andy Lasher has been named head baseball coach at Oakland City University. Lasher led the Bombers to both OVL regular season and playoff championships as well as a Bluegrass World Series Championship. Lasher replaces T Ray Fletcher. The long time coach recently became the schools athletic director.

Gouard new USI MBB Coach
1999 USI graduate Stan Gouard has been named the 10th head basketball coach in USI program history. Over the past 12 years Gouard has lifted the U Indy Basketball program to national prominence. This includes 8 NCAA Division 2 appearances, mulktiple All Americans and a number one ranking, he was also the 2014 GLVC Coach of the year. He replaces Rodney Watson who retired March 23 as USIs longest tenured mens basketball coach.

NTT INDYCAR Series Slated to Return to Indianapolis Motor Speedway This Year
The NTT INDYCAR Series will return to Indianapolis Motor Speedway for a third event in 2020.

Frontier League Ppd Season Start
The Frontier League which includes the Evansville Otters announced yesterday (Wednesday) they are delaying the scheduled May 14 start of the season. The League will become the largest independent baseball league in North America after merging with the Can Am League in the off season. The League statement stated they will continue to monitor the situation and will announce a start for the season at an appropriate time.

Oakland City University goes NAIA
In the Council of Presidents meeting yesterday Oakland City University was approved in its move from NCAA Division 2 to NAIA. They were one of five teams to be approved. They will play in the River States Conference. The Conference rebranded in 2016 and was formerly called the Kentucky Interscholastic Athletic Conference. Oakland City played in that conference from 1968 to 1975.

Paul Neidig has been names the next Commisioner of the IHSAA replacing Bobby Cox who retires at the end of this school year
