State public health and animal health officials are urging northern Indiana residents to protect themselves from mosquito bites and to monitor their horses for illness in response to the detection of Eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) virus activity in multiple northern Indiana counties.

Dubois Strong – in partnership with Vincennes University Jasper, Patoka Valley CTE, Hub  19, Indiana Municipal Power Agency, the four Dubois County school corporations, and local businesses – will be providing  580 high school freshmen with a firsthand exploration of job opportunities in Dubois County on Wednesday, October 12,  2022.

A game get-together for grandparents and high-schoolers is set for Sunday, Oct. 16, at the Jasper Public Library, 100 Third Ave. The “Get-toGamer,” sponsored by Dubois County CARES, will take place from 1:30 to 4 p.m. in the Hickory Room.
