Wilma I. Hall, age 88, of Dubois

Wilma I. Hall, age 88, of Dubois, Indiana, passed away surrounded by family at 10:12 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper, Indiana.

Wilma was born in Dubois, Indiana, on September 24, 1937, to John and Goldie (Comstock) Voelkel.  She married Channing Hall on October 26, 1957 at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Dubois, Indiana.  He preceded her in death on July 8, 2013.

Most of her life she was a dedicated homemaker.  In addition, she had worked at Indiana Bell, for the Northeast Dubois School Corporation and Wabash Valley Produce.

She was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Dubois.

Wilma was a devoted member of the church, an excellent seamstress and enjoyed cooking, making quilt tops, flower gardening, going to flea markets and yard sales, and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving two sons, Steven Hall, Westerville, OH, and Curtis (Cherryl) Hall, Cuzco, IN, one daughter, Channa (Dwayne) Helming, Dubois, IN, three grandchildren, Clayton (Mariah) Helming, Kristin (Nathan) Schroering, and Jordan Hall (fiancé, Phoebe Baker), one step-granddaughter, Jessie Reitmeyer, three great grandchildren, Channing and Raelynn Schroering and Hudson Helming, one sister, Ella Himsel (Charles – deceased), Dubois, IN, and one sister-in-law, Diana Voelkel

Preceding her in death besides her husband, are two sisters, Gladys Ferrell and Faye Rhienhart, and four brothers, Clarence, Stanley, Wesley, and John Ray Voelkel.

A funeral service for Wilma L. Hall will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Dubois, Indiana.  Pastor Lori Alexander will officiate.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the church on Thursday.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s United Church of Christ.
