Theresa Frances Reisz Drury, 98, of Santa Claus, Indiana passed away, Friday,
September 11, 2026, at Scenic Hills at the Monastery.
She was born in Rome,
Daviess County, KY, on December 20, 1927, the youngest daughter of Joseph
Anselm Reisz and Theresa Frances Simon Reisz. She graduated from St.
Joseph High School in Owensboro, KY, in 1946 and graduated from Owensboro
Business College. She married Arch Joseph Drury, Jr. on November 27, 1952 at
St. Anthony Catholic Church, Browns Valley, KY.
She retired from Owensboro
Mercy Health System in 1996. She was a seasonal employee at Holiday World
from 1996-2020.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 46 years; her
brothers, Simon Daniel, Joseph Anselm, and Paul Albert Reisz, her sisters Ann
Rita Reisz Wink and Mary Catherine Reisz Thompson, and a great-
granddaughter Evelyn Grace Laswell.
Surviving are her children Carolyn Ann McCarty (John), Hawesville, KY, Samuel
Reisz Drury, Sarah Lee Laswell (John), and John Reisz Drury (Dianna Preece),
Louisville, KY, and Ruth Helen Charles (Dale), Taylorsville, KY. Sisters-in-law
Eva Jean Settles Reisz, Cleveland, TN, and Emily Anthonette Winterson (Rick),
Duxbury, MA, and brothers-in-law, Charles Hoggard Maddrey (Claire), Atlanta,
GA, and John Michael Drury (Linda), Grand Rivers, KY. Her grandchildren,
Zachary Stuart McCarty (Britney), Benjamin Simon McCarty (Samantha),
Christopher Martin McCarty, Emily Colleen McCarty (Kyle Flowers), Abigail Marie
Laswell, Robert Drury Laswell (Grace), Cassa Frances Drury, and Arch William
Drury. Her great-grandchildren, Max Stuart McCarty, Stuart Camden McCarty,
Camden Michael McCarty, William Harrison McCarty, Hadley Reiss McCarty,
Tinsley Marie McCarty, John (Jack) Hayoung Laswell, William Hajun Laswell,
and Cedric Michael Flowers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Santa
Claus, IN on Thursday, September 17, at 10:00AM CST. Visitation will be
Wednesday, September 16, from 3:00PM CST to 7:00PM CST at Becher
Funeral Home, Ferdinand, IN. Visitation the day of the funeral will be from
8:00AM CST until the time of the Funeral Mass at the church.
Burial will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Santa Claus, IN.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy be made in
the form of donations to St. Nicholas Catholic Church Cemetery Fund. Envelopes
will be available at the funeral home.
