Shirley A. Bartley, age 84, of Jasper

Shirley A. Bartley, age 84, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 7:57 a.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026, at the Timbers in Jasper, Indiana. 

Shirley was born in Fulda, Indiana on January 29, 1942, to Frank and Josephine (Gudorf) Kleiser. She married Larry E. Bartley on May 18, 1961, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana. He preceded her in death on January 15, 2013. 

Shirley was a 1960 graduate from Jasper High School. She spent many years raising her children and caring for her home. She co-managed St. Vincent DePaul alongside her husband. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and their St. Ann’s Society. She enjoyed quilting, hosting yard sales with friends and family, and sponsoring B&G Tire men’s and youth softball teams. 

She is survived by one daughter, Janet (Ken) Schultheis, Evansville; one son, Mike (Bridgette) Bartley, Jasper; grandchildren: Josh, Paige (Zach) Post, and Scott Schultheis, Tyler, Jacob, and Grace Bartley, three brothers: Frank, Donnie (Jane), and Earl (Carmen) Kleiser. 

Besides her husband she is preceded in death by five sisters: Pauline Englert, Lucille Schuetter, Mary Ann Prance, Betty Overstreet, Norma Kleiser, three brothers: Harold, Leroy, and Alfred Kleiser.   

A Mass of Christian Burial for Shirley A. Bartley will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with entombment to follow at Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, at the Becher-Kluesner downtown funeral home. 

Holy Family will pray a rosary at 3:30 p.m. prior to the visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church Endowment, St. Vincent DePaul, or to a favorite charity.
