Sharon Ann James, age 66, of Ireland

Sharon Ann James, age 66, of Ireland, Indiana, passed away surrounded by family at 1:11 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Deaconess Midtown in Evansville, Indiana.

Sharon was born in Jasper, Indiana, on February 9, 1960, to Lawrence Sr. and Dolores (Brames) Miller.  She married Ronald James on October 15, 1983, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana.

She was a 1978 graduate of Jasper High School.She retired as an administrator from Kimball Electronics where she had worked for 42 years.Sharon was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland, where she was involved in the quilting group.  

In addition, she was a Lucky Irish 4-H Leader for many years.  She is well known in the community for her beautiful seamstress work. She won many awards through the Dubois County Homemakers for her work and taught many of her nieces how to sew and helped with their 4-H projects.  

She and her husband, Ron, enjoyed many years of riding and caring for horses.  They also loved their dogs.  Sharon loved traveling; her trips to Alaska were her favorite.  She loved spending time with her family, and was very involved in the lives of her nieces and nephews.

Surviving is her husband, Ronald James, Ireland, IN, stepchildren, Kristina (Jeff) Keene, Warsaw, IN, Thomas James, New Tazewell, TN, and Amy (Michael) Bakay, Dorr, MI, one sister, Mary (Ronald) Martin, Evansville, IN, four brothers, Martin Miller, Indianapolis, IN, Tom (Denise) Miller, Ireland, IN, Alan Miller, Chicago, IL and Lawrence Jr. (Jeanette) Miller, Retired Master Sergeant Air Force, Prattville, AL, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents, one sister, Angela Geralyn Miller, one brother, Eugene Miller, one step granddaughter, Ashley Miller, and one niece, Lindsey Miller.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Sharon Ann James will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.
