Sandra R. Jones, age 79, of Winslow

Sandy was born in Washington, Indiana, on July 8, 1947, to Laymon and Eloise (Ross) Hill.  She married Herschel L. Jones on August 10, 1963, at Mt. Olive Church in Otwell, Indiana. He preceded her in death on July 25, 2022. 

She received her nursing degree from Vincennes University. She retired as a registered nurse from Jasper Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Glezen General Baptist Church. Sandy enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, IU Basketball, and spending time with family. 

She is survived by four children: Stacy (Kurt) Greener, Tampa, FL; Sheila (Blair) Hawkins, St, Francisville, IL; Herschel A. (Tamara) Jones, Bloomington, IN; Mark Jones, Winslow, IN; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Sherryl (Jim) Osgatharp and Marcella Melvin, and her beloved dogs Lucy and Duke.Besides her husband Herschel, she is preceded in death by one great grandson, Cole Schepers, two sisters, Linda Lou Darcus, Norma Faith, and brother, Steve Hill.
