Robert W. Duncan, 83, of Huntingburg

Robert W. Duncan, 83, of Huntingburg, passed away at 12:50 a.m., on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper where he had been a resident for a short time.

 Robert was born at Brazil, Indiana, on November 30, 1935, to Chester and Ruby (Adamson) Duncan.  He married Alice L. Meyerholtz on February 3, 1957, at Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg.  Bob was a truck driver for many years for Huntingburg Furniture, D.M.I., and Tartan Furniture; and retired as a plant supervisor from Styline/O.F.S.  He was a United States Army veteran and served at Keflavik, Iceland and Ft. Hood, Texas.  Bob was a life member and past commander of V.F.W. Post #2366 in Huntingburg, where his friends called him “Ace”.  He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg; and enjoyed flying RC airplanes, working outdoors, racing, and football.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a twin sister, Alice Ann Duncan; and two brothers, Raymond L. Duncan and William “Bill” Duncan.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Alice L. Duncan of Huntingburg; two sons, David W. (Annette) Duncan of Huntingburg and Robert T. (Janet) Duncan of rural Ferdinand; one brother, Fred Duncan of Lakeland, Florida; one sister-in-law, Marilyn Duncan of Huntingburg; by (4) grandchildren, Hilary, Reid, Brent (Jordan), and Makenzie Duncan; and (1) great-grandchild, Emmett.

Funeral services for Robert Duncan will be held at 10:00 a.m., EST, on Monday, November 18, 2019, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Huntingburg.  Pastor Mark McDaniel will officiate at the service.  Military graveside rites will be conducted by the V.F.W. Post #2366 Memorial Detail.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home from 12:00 noon-6:00 p.m., on Sunday, November 17th.  Memorial contributions can be made to Salem United Church of Christ.
