Richard J. “Rick” Blaize, age 73, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away surrounded by family at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at The Timbers of Jasper.
Rick was born in Jasper, Indiana, on May 3, 1953, to Mary Vonderheide Kemp.
He was raised by Mary and her husband, Jerald “Bub” Kemp.
He attended Jasper High School.He was a member of the Jasper Moose and the American Legion Post #147.Rick enjoyed golfing and bowling. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal, Indiana Hoosier, Indianapolis Colts, and Chicago/St. Louis/Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals fan.
He also loved telling stories about the concerts he attended, golf trips, and his random trivia knowledge. Rick told everyone that they should, “Go to Vegas at least once!”
Surviving are two daughters, Lindsay (Jason) Moll, Montgomery, IN, Lacey Blaize, Jasper, IN, one son, Luke (Madelyn) Blaize, Jasper, IN, four grandchildren and one on the way, Keegan Thomas, Karisma Moll, Devin and Owen Blaize, and two nieces and one nephew.
Preceding him in death is one brother, Gary (Peg) Blaize.
A prayer service for Richard J. “Rick” Blaize will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, with burial at a later date.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the 6:00 p.m. prayer service at the funeral home on Wednesday.Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
