Ramona “Mona” D. Resenbeck, age 86, of Jasper

Ramona “Mona” D. Resenbeck, age 86, of Jasper, passed away peacefully at 8:30 a.m., on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at her residence.

She was born on June 17, 1939, in Jasper, to Pius and Caroline (Goeppner) Persohn. On November 27, 1958, she married Donald Resenbeck. Ramona was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper and the Benedictine Oblates of St. Meinrad Archabbey. She was deeply committed to the Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP) groups in Ireland and at St. Joseph Catholic Church. In recognition of her faithful service, she was honored with the prestigious St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Award and the Simon Brute Award.

She found joy in baking—especially with her grandchildren and expressing herself through journal writing and poetry. A true and loyal fan of the Indiana Hoosiers, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Dallas Cowboys, Ramona’s enthusiasm never wavered. More than anything, her faith and her family were the foundation of her life and the source of her greatest happiness—along with her loving dog, Hoosier; and her neighbor and best friend, Joyce Voegerl.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Resenbeck; son, Joe Resenbeck; siblings, Joyce Whitley, Richard Persohn and Thomas Lee Persohn; granddaughter, Ashley Jewell; and sons-in-law, Ed Neukam and Greg Burch.

She is survived by 6 daughters, Paula (Paul) Gogel of Ferdinand, Martina (Jason) Pfaff of Jasper, April (Alex) Simmers of Jasper, Madonna Neukam of Jasper, Diana Burch of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and Julie (Frank) Morgan of Evansville; 3 sons, Tom Resenbeck of San Diego, California, Doug (Mary) Resenbeck of San Diego, California; and foster-son, Jim (Sherry) Jackson of Wisconsin; 1 sister, Mary (John) Reynolds of Arizona; and by 24 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson.

A funeral mass for Ramona D. Resenbeck will be held at 12:00 p.m., E.S.T., Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.
