Patricia “Patty” Sue Sutton, 65, of Mitchell
Patricia “Patty” Sue Sutton, 65, of Mitchell, Indiana passed away on Saturday January 31, 2026,
at her sister’s home in Jasper, Indiana.
She was born on September 8, 1960, in Jasper, Indiana to the late Eugene and Elleen (Schmitt)
Sutton.
Patty had a deep love of traveling to Florida, where she enjoyed long days at the beach. She first
expressed her creativity as a hairdresser, and later became a registered nurse, devoting her career
to caring for others with compassion and love. She was also a former member of the Eagles
Lodge 2442 in Shoals, Indiana. Patty will be remembered for her kindness, work ethic, and the
lasting impact she made on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Steve Sutton, Joseph Sutton, and Glenn
Sutton.
Patty is survived by her siblings: Mark (Georgette) Sutton, Tim (Terry) Sutton, John (Rachel)
Sutton, Terese (Von) Chavis, Mary Ann Sutton, Martha (Everett) Yoder, David (April) Sutton,
and Joan (Brent) Jones; her Godchildren, Jordan Chavis and Erin Wolfe; 21 nieces and nephews,
and several great-nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00 A.M
Friday, February 6, 2026, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St.
John Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 4:00 P.M to
7:00 P.M at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee, Indiana, and again on Friday from 9:00 A.M to
9:45 A.M at the church.
