Patricia “Patty” N. Schurz, age 80, of Holland

Patricia “Patty” N. Schurz, age 80, of Holland, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at her home.

She was born on June 23, 1926, in Chicago, Illinois, to Emil and Clara (Ziemer) Wagner.

Patty was a devoted member of Christ Community Fellowship Church in Huntingburg. She graduated from Redondo Beach High School in California and went on to work in automated data processing for various companies and organizations, including the United States Air Force and United States Navy. On January 15, 1983, she married the love of her life, Scott “BJ” Schurz, in Ogden, Utah. Patty was a talented artist who especially enjoyed painting and had a love for cooking. Although she did not have children of her own, she had a special place in her heart for her beloved four-legged companions, who brought her much joy and companionship.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by one sibling, Linda (Gary) Lackner, of Stendal; and by nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., at Christ Community Church in Huntingburg. Pastor Jan Miller will officiate.
