Patricia "Pat" Deaver, age 97, of Huntingburg
Patricia "Pat" Deaver, age 97, of Huntingburg, passed away at 7:29 a.m., September 10, 2026, at Scenic Hills at the Monastery in Ferdinand.
She was born January 22, 1929, in Charleston, West Virginia, to Lance and Ollie Mae (Lowance) Deaver. She grew up in Lewisburg, West Virginia and graduated from high school there in 1947. She moved to Huntingburg in 2019 after living in the North Carolina mountains. Pat retired from American Airlines after making that her lifetime career choice.
She made a profession of faith in 1941, and faithfully served her Lord, Jesus Christ, wherever her church membership was at the time. While living in North Carolina, she spent many hours volunteering at The Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove. She was passionate about her volunteer work in both churches and the community. Her last two church memberships were Pisgah Forest Baptist Church in North Carolina and Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jack Deaver; sister, Betty Deaver; and nephews, John Deaver, Mark White and Don White.
She is survived by her longtime friend and caregiver, Jan Hall; nieces, Patty Tate, Milly Taylor, Paula Johnson and Kristina Carhart; and by several great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Burial for Patricia "Pat" Deaver will be held in Greenbriar Memorial Gardens, in Lewisburg, West Virginia, at a later date. Rainey Funeral Home in Dale has been entrusted with handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, friends and family request that memorial contributions may be made to Heart-to-Heart Hospice or Scenic Hills at the Monastery.
