Nicholas F. Gomes, age 48, of Lamar

Nicholas F. Gomes, age 48, of Lamar, passed away at 2:02 p.m., on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born March 10, 1978, in Merced, California, to Leonal and Joy (Peterson) Gomes. He married the love of his life, Anjanette Glass, on November 25, 2000, in Merced, California.

Nick was a devoted husband, proud father of six, and hardworking business owner. He valued the simple things in life and especially enjoyed spending time with good friends, eating Mexican food, and working hard. Some of his greatest joys were found at home, dancing in the kitchen with his wife and daughter and wrestling with his five sons. Above all, Nick treasured the time spent with his family and the memories they made together.

He is survived by his wife, Anjanette Gomes of Lamar; six children, Tucker, Riley, Spencer, Wesley, Emily and Titus Gomes all at home; his parents, Leonal and Joy Gomes of Lamar; one sister, Jennifer (Mark) Enns of Fresno, California; and by one nephew, Dylan Enns.

A memorial service for Nicholas F. Gomes will be held at 2:00 p.m., C.D.T., on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Heritage Hills Baptist Church, 1415 West Christmas Blvd., Santa Claus, IN 47579.  Pastor Jeff French will officiate the service.  Following the service, a meal will be provided, and all are welcome to stay and share in fellowship. 

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., C.D.T., on Saturday, prior to the service at the church.  Rainey Funeral Home in Dale has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with the future needs and education of Nick's children or to the Heritage Hills Baptist Church.  Condolences may be shared online at: www.raineyfuneralhome.com
