Myrna J. Popp, age 85, of Jasper

Myrna J. Popp, age 85, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away peacefully at 5:10 a.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at home surrounded by family.

Myrna was born in Washington, Indiana, on August 7, 1940, to Orville and Edith (Gould) Harker.  She married Robert Popp on September 3, 1960, in Alfordsville Christian Church. He preceded her in death on September 28, 2022.

Her caring heart as a stay-at-home mother, extended beyond loving others as she opened her home to watching children.She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville and attended Redemption Christian Church in Jasper.

She was a graduate of Alfordsville High School.She enjoyed camping, fishing, decorating for Christmas, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and attending their sporting events. She also loved planting flowers and watching IU games.Myrna was a great wife, mother and loved by her church family and friends.

Surviving are two daughters; Glenda (Terry) Persohn, Jasper, IN, Debbie (Duane) Lindauer, Jasper, IN, two sons; Bobby (Jill) Popp, Owensville, IN, Randy (Carla) Popp, Jasper, IN, and 14 grandchildren; Ericka Kluesner, Ryan Merkel, Kendra Friedman, Aaron Persohn, and Janelle Long, Craig, Lauren, and Nathan Popp and Paige Collins, Carson and Colin Popp, Casey Sturgeon, Jordan Poteet and Mitchell Lindauer, 22 great-grandchildren, with one on the way.

Preceding her in death besides her husband are nine siblings.

A funeral service for Myrna J. Popp will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Redemption Christian Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery in Haysville, Indiana.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service time at the church on Thursday.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff of Heart-to-Heart Hospice for their compassionate care, love and support shown to their mother over the last six months.
