Mary Lou McDonald, age 79 of Huntingburg

Mary Lou McDonald, age 79 of Huntingburg, passed away on October 23rd, 2026, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.

She was born on June 28, 1947 to Rober Lee and Edna Louis (Rupp) Kiger.  Mary Lou was a self-reliant woman who commanded the road as a semi-truck driver and by the same token, a people person as she served patrons and friends as a bartender.  She was a member of Naples American Legion and Marengo American Legion – depending upon where she was residing.  When she took time to kick back, she enjoyed watching Westerns as well as Hallmark Channel shows.  She spread her loyalties among most of the NCAA Football teams and would cheer for whomever was playing.   Mary Lou is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Paul Kiger; and a sister, Jenalee Fetters.

She is survived by her children, Joseph (Marilyn) Platek of Michigan, Jenny (Tim) Hayes of Jasper; Abby (Amy) Raisor of Huntingburg; five grandchildren, Michael, Chelsea, Julia, Samantha, J.T.; one great-grandson, Carter; and longtime friend, Randy Raisor.
