Martha P. Munch, age 91 of Haysville
Martha P. Munch, age 91 of Haysville, Indiana, passed away at 10:15 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at Deaconess Memorial Hospital in Jasper, Indiana.
Martha was born in Daviess County on June 20, 1935 to Herbert and Bertha (Mehne) Lottes. She married Edgar J. Munch on February 22, 1955 in Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville, IN. He preceded her in death on December 16, 1985.
She attended Alfordsville High School, and graduated her senior year at Ft. Wayne Concordia Lutheran High School. Martha was a beautician, a seamstress, and was also a loving homemaker. She was a very active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville, and was involved in many church projects, including missionary support roles, decorating, and Sunday school for the youth.
Her faith in God helped her provide strength and comfort for many people. She had a great sense of Humor, and enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, fine needle work, and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She was a very strong and wise woman, who stepped up to take on many roles after the passing of her husband.
Martha is survived by two daughters: Karen Beranek (Buck), Greenwood, IN, Holly Knies (Jerry), Dubois, one son: Brad Munch (Terri), Haysville, seven grandchildren: Lynn Riley, Angi Beranek, Jamie Bobst, Lee Harp, Ross Harp, Kara Norman, and Wes Knies, eleven great grandchildren, and one sister, Mary V. Ziegler, Jasper.
Preceding her in death besides her husband, was one brother, James “Jack” Lottes.
Funeral services for Martha P. Munch will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville, IN, with burial to follow in Haysville Community Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2026 at the Becher-Kluesner Northside Chapel in Jasper, and from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service time at the church on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, or a favorite charity.
