Marjorie Vera (Lehmkuhler) Ahrens, age 86, of Huntingburg
Marjorie Vera (Lehmkuhler) Ahrens, age 86, of Huntingburg, passed away at 6:40 p.m., on Friday, December 21, 2018, at home.
She was born July 23, 1932, in Huntingburg, Indiana to Elmer and Florence (Crandall) Lehmkuhler; and married Carl R. Ahrens on December 23, 1950, at Salem Church. Marjorie received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Education; was a teacher and small business owner; a member of Salem United Church of Christ; a church and mental health programs volunteer; and enjoyed flowers and playing cards. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Larry Lehmkuhler.
She is survived by her husband, Carl R. Ahrens of Huntingburg; two daughters, Kathy (Gene) DesLauriers of Wilmington, North Carolina and Lisa (Chris) Baumann of Scranton, Pennsylvania; and five grandchildren, Danielle, Andrea, and John DesLauriers, Avery and Austin Baumann.
A memorial reception and gathering of family and friends will be held at Carl & Marjorie Ahrens’ residence from 2:00-4:00 p.m., on Wednesday, December 26, 2018. Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg has been entrusted with the disposition arrangements.
