Lucille S. Fuhrman, 104, of Loogootee

She was born November 6, 1919 in Rutherford Township, Indiana to the late Orian and Ora (Parsons) Hembree. She was one of fifteen children. Lucille married Harold E. Fuhrman on September 17, 1939. Together they raised four children and owned and operated a family farm in Lost River. In the late 1960’s they moved to Loogootee. One of Lucille’s proudest accomplishments was owning and operating H & L Ceramics in Loogootee. She was member of St. John Lutheran Church. Lucille loved to cook, quilt, sing and shop. Although, her favorite past time was her family. She enjoyed cooking wonderful meals for them and playing with the babies. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Fuhrman; her son, Harold (Liz) Fuhrman; her parents, Orian and Ora Hembree; her siblings, Alvin (Mildred) Hembree, Ernest (Dorothy) Hembree, Mary (Willis) Hembree, Melva (John) Simmons, Woodrow (Joyce) Hembree, Sylvia (Lester) Keller, Edith (Junior) Ziegler, Ora (Gayle) Hotz, Crystal (Harold) Dyal, Veda (Harold) Chambers, Orian (Marilyn) Hembree, Velma (Herbert) Wening, and Delphia (Johnny) Sendelweck; grandson, Brian Fuhrman; granddaughter-in-law, Denise Fuhrman. 

Lucille is survived by her children, Edward O. (Terry) Fuhrman of Corydon, Vic (Marlene) Fuhrman of Shoals, and Sonja (David) Sherfick of Venice, Florida; brother, Norman (Betty) Hembree; grandchildren, Harold Fuhrman, Wayne (Faith) Fuhrman, Jason Fuhrman, Denise (Eric) Miller, Craig Fuhrman, Kim Fegan- Fuhrman, Brent Fuhrman, Jenny Fuhrman, Sherry (Scott) Wade, Andrea (Brett) Lemond, Lea (Shawn) Cullison, Tamar (Kent) Greenwell, and Grant (Rose) Sherfick; 23 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at St. John Lutheran Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in Goodwill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, November 20, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Loogootee and Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
