Larry Dean Robbins, 77, of Dover Hill
Larry Dean Robbins, 77, of Dover Hill, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at The Villages in Jasper.
Born November 14, 1948, in Loogootee, Indiana, he was the son of Charles Robbins and Helen (Payton) Robbins.
Larry was a graduate of Shoals High School with the class of 1967 and was a Veteran of the United States Army
during the Vietnam War. He attended NCO Academy in Fort Bliss, Texas and earned the rank of Sargent. Larry
received The Army Commendation Medal for Heroism in 1970.
Larry retired from US Gypsum after 37 years.
He married Eva June Brassine on August 5, 1970, and she survives.
Larry was a member of the Dover Hill Christian Union Church and a member of the Shoals American Legion.
He enjoyed all kinds of racing, classic cars and trucks, baseball, basketball, and was an avid Notre Dame Football fan
and Indiana University Basketball fan.
Larry coached Shoals Little League baseball for many years, he loved kids and
would do anything to help them better themselves.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, June; children, Mark Alan Robbins and Nickolas Dean Robbins;
grandchildren, Kailye Nickole (Ashton) Wagler, Hannah Harshaw, and Heather (John) Newby; great-grandchildren,
Jolye, Georgia, and Shepherd Wagler; sister, Sandy (Karlas) Spears; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Gilbert; and brothers, Charles Robbins and Ronnie Robbins.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care
with Pastor Mike Schlaegel officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon until the service hour on Saturday at the Queen-Lee Chapel in Shoals.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Veteran’s Organization of the giver’s choice, in memory of Larry Dean
Robbins.
