Karen Sue Rue, age 75, of Dale

Karen Sue Rue, age 75, of Dale, passed away at 11:56 a.m., on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Deaconess Memorial Medical Center in Jasper. 

She was born on June 20, 1950, to Herman and Wanda (Simpson) Woolsey, and was united in marriage to Charles Rue on November 29, 1974, at Heilman Mt. Olive General Baptist Church. Karen devoted her life to her family as a loving homemaker and found great joy in gardening. She cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and treasured the moments watching their sporting events, dance & cheer competitions, and anything else that revolved around them. Karen delighted in cooking and baking—particularly her famous sugar cookies. She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Karen is survived by her husband, Charles Rue of Dale; two children, Aaron (Tina) Rue of Jasper and Bridget Greer of Newburgh; and by four grandchildren, Hallie and Lea Rue of Jasper, Abigail and Ava Greer of Newburgh. 

Funeral services for Karen S. Rue will be held at 11:00 a.m., C.D.T., Friday, October 31, 2025, at Heilman Mt. Olive General Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Garrison Chapel Cemetery.  Pastor Ken Slater will officiate the service. 

Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m., C.D.T., on Friday, prior to the service at the church.  Rainey Funeral Home in Dale has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heilman Mt.
