Karen S. Rasche, age 78, of Jasper

Karen S. Rasche, age 78, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at home. 

Karen was born in Haysville, Indiana on October 7, 1947, to Leroy F. and Adlyn C. (Opel) Zehr. She married James “Jim” Rasche on July 29, 1967, in St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Dubois. 

Karen was a 1965 graduate of Dubois High School. 

She worked at Wabash Valley and retired from Kimball. 

She was a member of St. Raphael’s Catholic Church. She volunteered her time in the concession stands supporting Northeast Dubois Little League and later the High School. She loved attending and following her children and grandchildren in their educational and sporting events. 

Above all, she loved her family and spending time with them. She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards- especially Euchre, working on the farm, and was a big supporter of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jim Rasche, Jasper; three children: Duane (Julie) Rasche, Boonville; Dennis (Tara) Rasche, Dubois; and Julie (Dan) Lechner, Celestine; ten grandchildren: Alexa Rasche, Madison (Kade) Mundy, Tyla Rasche, Nolan (Regan) Rasche, Delaney (Ethan) Metzelaar, Olivia Rasche, Landyn Rasche, Kaden (Riley) Quinn, Kortney (Shelby) Pieper, Will Lechner, and three great-grandchildren: Colt Mundy, Dane Pieper, and Kinsley Quinn, two brothers, Pat Zehr and Sam (Teresa) Zehr, and several nieces and nephews. 

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters: Sherry Richards, Tammy Engle, and Linda Zehr, and one brother, Mike Zehr. 

A Mass of Christian Burial for Karen S. Rasche will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Dubois, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. 

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10th, at the Becher-Kluesner downtown funeral home.
