Karen S. Kolb, age 61, of Jasper

Karen was born in Evansville, Indiana, on September 19, 1964, to Donald Brown and Mary Ann (Pierce) Brown. She married Charles R. Kolb on December 24, 1990, in Boonville, Indiana. He preceded her in death on July 13, 2023. 

She was a graduate from Boonville High School and went on to receive her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Evansville. She continued her education and received her master’s degree from Murray State University. 

For 25 years, she worked at Memorial Hospital in Jasper as a certified nurse anesthetist.   She was a member of Redemption Church in Jasper. Karen enjoyed kayaking, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. 

She is survived by three sons: Charles F. Collins, and significant other, Maggie Kitch, Naples, FL; Wesley Kolb, Jasper, IN; and Christian Kolb, Jasper, IN, and mother, Mary Ann Ingram. 

Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by her father, Donald Brown. 

A funeral service for Karen S. Kolb will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 16th, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Enlow Cemetery in Jasper. Rev. Darrel Land will officiate. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m. service time on Tuesday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. The Nursing Honor Guard will have a prayer service at 9:45 a.m. prior to the visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family or a favorite charity.
