Judith A. Seger, age 71, of Mariah Hill

Judith A. Seger, age 71, of Mariah Hill, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026.

She was born on August 13, 1954, in Mariah Hill, Indiana, to James Sr. and Ernestine (Gogel) Seger. Judy was a devoted member of Mary Help of Christians Church, St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Mariah Hill, where she was active in the Ladies Sodality. She also enjoyed participating in the Ferdinand Senior Citizens organization. Judy found great joy in gardening, caring for her flowers, and decorating her home for the holidays, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and by one brother and sister-in-law, James Jr. and Marilyn Seger.

She is survived by two siblings, William Joseph Seger of Mariah Hill and Mary (David) Rickelman of Ferdinand; and by five nieces and nephews, Joyce (Kenny) Hoppenjans, Brian (Karen) Seger, Pam (Todd) Begle, Greg Rickelman and Michael (Angela) Rickelman.

A Funeral Mass for Judith A. Seger will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T. (9:00 a.m., C.D.T.), on Friday, July 24, 2026, at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Mary Help of Christians Church in Mariah Hill.  Father Martin Estrada will officiate the mass.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 a.m., E.D.T. (8:00-9:00 a.m., C.D.T.), on Friday, prior to the mass at the church.  Rainey Funeral Home in Dale has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mary Help of Christians Church.  Condolences may be shared online at: www.raineyfuneralhome.com
