Joseph G. Kendall, age 74 of Jasper

Joseph G. Kendall, age 74 of Jasper,  IN, passed away at 9:25 a.m. on Monday, December 9, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
 
Joe was born in Chelmsford, England on April 27, 1945 to Everett and Violet (Moss) Kendall.  He married Helen Meyer on April 30, 1966 in St. John's Lutheran Church in Boone Township in Dubois County. 
 
He graduated from Huntingburg High School in 1963 as a "Happy Hunter."
 
Joe retired in 2004 from Kimball International after 23 years as a furniture design engineer. He also worked at Acme Metal Products and Ditto Sales for many years.  
 
Joe was  a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Boone Township, where he served multiple times as president of the church, treasurer, council member, reader, senior choir, men's choir, and all other church activities. He was a Jasper High School Band supporter and Pit Crew member. He coached Ireland Little League baseball, softball, and Jasper Pony League baseball.
 
He enjoyed baseball, basketball, and football  where he played all three sports at Huntingburg High School. He also enjoyed golf, travel, gospel music, and spending time with his grandkids.  
 
Joe's favorite saying, "If you're not 15 minutes early you're late."
 
Surviving are his wife, Helen Kendall, Jasper, IN, one daughter, Elizabeth Ann (David Kelley), Indianapolis, IN, one son, Philip Kendall (Kris), Jasper, IN four grandchildren: Maxwell McClellan, Indianapolis, IN,  Aidan Kelley, Indianapolis, IN,  Jaida Kendall, Jasper, IN,  Maya Kendall , Jasper, IN, and one step grandson Jacob Kelley, Shelbyville, IN. Three sisters;  Jan Kuhnhein (Jim), Mason, OH, Lois Niksch, (Tom) Valparaiso, IN, Barb Perry (Bob), Huntingburg, IN, One Brother Pat Kendall (Linda), Huntingburg, IN and many nieces and nephews.
 
Preceding him in death was one nephew, Jeff Perry.
 
Funeral services for Joe Kendall will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Boone Township, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Reverend  Timothy Kraemer will officiate.
 
A visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2019 at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, and from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service time at the church on Saturday.
