John “Jay” Baker, age 72, of Hillham

John “Jay” Baker, age 72, of Hillham, Indiana entered into eternal rest on July 15 th , 2026 at Deaconess Memorial Health Care Center, Jasper, Indiana.

He was born in Cutshin, Kentucky on December 7 th , 1953 to Edgar and Audrey Alene (Ratliff) Baker. Jay married Sandy Courtright on October 15 th , 1977 and she survives.

He was preceded in death by his

Parents;

Brothers – Keith and Eugene; and

Sisters – Gladys and Nila.

Jay attended Springs Valley Wesleyan Church and was owner of Jay’s Carpentry Work. He enjoyed drag racing, dirt track racing, watching westerns, restoring old buildings and spending time with family.

Jay is survived by:

Wife – Sandi Baker of Hillham, Indiana

Son – John Baker (Lyndi Houchin) of Hillham, Indiana

Daughter – Jaimi Rickelman (Mark) of Paoli, Indiana

Sister – Judy Gudger of Birdseye, Indiana

Grandchildren – Chase, Xander, Orion, Sawyer, and Madi

Cremation was chosen.
