John H. Stoll, age 76, of Vincennes
John H. Stoll, age 76, of Vincennes, formerly of Gentryville, passed away on August 12,
2025, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville.
He was born October 7, 1948, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to Walles and Dorothy (Rabe)
Stoll; and married Doris Sherman on February 1, 1986.
He was a 1966 graduate of Enid High
School. Together, John and Doris were both very active teaching Sunday School in various
churches around the area.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris Stoll; stepfather, James Parrish;
sister, Georgene Tah; and stepson, Greg Sherman.
He is survived by two stepchildren, Cheryl Sherman Stone Daub of Vincennes, Indiana
and John Sherman of Seattle, Washington; two sisters, Esther Francis of Enid, Oklahoma and
Kathleen (Steven) Flowers of Moreland, Indiana; two grandchildren, Daniel (Taylor Richards)
Stone of Bruceville, Indiana and Kaela Stone of Vincennes, Indiana; one great-granddaughter,
Riverlyn Stone; and by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for John H. Stoll will be held at 1:30 p.m., C.D.T., on Saturday, August
16, 2025, at Rainey Funeral Home in Dale. Burial will follow at the Dale Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, prior to the service at the
funeral home. The family has asked that contributions be made to your favorite charity in
John.s name.
