Joan L. Harris, age 84, of Jasper
Joan L. Harris, age 84, of Jasper, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at
Deaconess Memorial Hospital in Jasper.
She was born on July 27 th , 1941 in Ferdinand to Alphonse and Hilda (Hedinger) Boeglin. She was
a 1959 graduate of Huntingburg High School. Joan was united in marriage to Robert E. “Bob/
Red” Harris, Sr. on December 26, 1959 in Shawneetown, Illinois.
She worked for Farbest Foods
as a supervisor for 27 years. Joan was a good soul and would volunteer wherever help was
needed and enjoyed the outdoors, boating and fishing. Indoors you could find her sewing,
quilting and snuggling with her furry friend, Sophie She was a past member of Oakland City
American Legion Post #256
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert,
Sr. on February 26, 2017; her son, Robert Harris, Jr.; and a brother, Leroy Boeglin.
Joan is survived by three daughters, Brenda Volz of Dale, Judy Meyer of Jasper, Mary E. “Beth”
(Rick) Bruce of Princeton; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
A private burial will take place at Fairmount Cemetery.
