Jerry Lee Wininger, 77, of French Lick
Jerry Lee Wininger, 77, of French Lick, Indiana, entered into eternal rest on May 3 rd , 2026 at his residence.
He was born in French Lick, Indiana on January 21 st , 1949 to Hollis and Grace (Gottfried) Wininger.
Jerry was preceded in death by his Parents, Brothers – Laverne, Preston and Bennie; and Sisters – Viola Grooms, Patsy
Bryant, Helen Davis, Alta Lockhart, Lillian Wininger and Beulah Jones.
He attended Springs Valley High School, before being drafted into the U.S. Army. Jerry served his country proudly
during the Vietnam Conflict, where he earned numerous awards for valor including but not limited to a Purple Heart.
Jerry was a member of the French Lick American Legion Post 76, and past member of the Newton Stewart Masonic
Lodge F&AM 432.
He enjoyed gardening, fishing, horseback riding, riding his Honda Goldwing Trike, and spending quality time with
friends and family at the Legion. Jerry retired from Gaylor Electric as a truck driver.
Jerry is survived by:
Daughter – Robin Lockhart of Paoli, Indiana
(2) Grandchildren
(2) Great-Grandchildren
Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
GRAVESIDE CEREMONY
A Graveside Ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8 th , 2026 at the Wickliffe Cemetery with burial to follow.
Military Graveside Rites will be performed by the French Lick American Legion Post 76.
VISITATION
Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, May 8 th , 2026 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral
Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Wickliffe Cemetery, c/o Larry R. Atkins,
1098 South 1100 East, Birdseye, Indiana 47513.
