Jennifer Lynn (Yoder) Wagler, 38, of Montgomery

Jennifer Lynn (Yoder) Wagler, 38, of Montgomery, Indiana passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 3:03PM at Deaconess Gateway in Evansville, IN.

One of the last gifts she gave was new life to others as she was an organ donor and was able to share gifts without price to complete strangers, just as she had chosen in advance to do.

Jen was born on September 29, 1987. This incredible human being, so loved by all who knew her, shone with the love of Christ and shared her compassionate and generous heart in everything she did. She showed up with a smile and infectious laughter and was the first to volunteer to serve where there was a need.

Jen attended Barr Reeve until eighth grade, earned her GED, and then her teaching degree from Vincennes University - Jasper Campus. She worked at Graber Post for a short time until she started and ran First Steps Preschool for 2 years. And for the past 13 years, Jen has been at Wagler Custom Homes. She had a brilliant mind, which she used for the good of others. She was the one that was called on in troubles of any kind, and with her cheerful attitude and careful attention, she could order most anything right. Larry Wagler, her boss at Wagler Custom Homes, said that when he encountered a problem, no matter how big or small, he handed it over to Jen and she sorted it out every time. Her disposition was unflappable, and she shouldered any difficulty with great skill and detailed attention.

Jen loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, and she attended First Mennonite Church in Montgomery where she faithfully and generously served. When there was a need, Jen was one of the first to respond. Her relationship with the Lord gave her complete peace, and her life was a testament to her faith in the shed blood of Christ and the hope of resurrection to eternal life. She is now with the God she loved and served all her days.

She was a natural planner, and was always working on an upcoming event or activity. She planned an annual community social for people with disabilities, countless family and friends’ activities and gatherings, holiday parties and celebrations, church events and outreaches, and more recently, as her husband Danny fondly calls it, “The Ultimate Perfect Surprise” for his 40 th birthday. She showed and shared her love to those around her by making the everyday special with her indefatigable spirit.

Jen’s family meant the world to her. She loved her husband Danny Wagler of nearly 16 years (m. July 24, 2010). Her two boys were her greatest earthly joy and she was so proud of them. She fought valiantly for them, even more so in her son Bexten’s recent diagnosis with Muscular Dystrophy. She was very focused on getting him the help he needed, but she was never without hope. She made every phone call and filled out every bit of paperwork that she could, and she trusted that God would ultimately order all things right.

Jen is survived by her husband, Danny, sons Hudson (age 10) and Bexten (age 5), parents David & Sue (Knepp) Yoder, grandparents Ora & Ada Marie (Lengacher) Yoder, siblings, Perry (Melinda) Yoder, Jolene (Darv) Wittmer, Richard (Jamie) Yoder, Donna (Randy) Knepp, and Allen (Lacey) Yoder, and many nieces and nephews. She was incredibly gifted at making everyone around her feel seen and important. With so many nieces and nephews, all of them reminisce that Jen sought them out at every family gathering.

She was incredibly gifted at getting at each of their levels, newly- married all the way down to toddler, and was always checking in on each of them and drawing them into conversation.

Jen is preceded in death by her grandparents, Ervin & Lillie (Wagler) Knepp, and uncle Willis (Bill) Graber.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 from 1:00 P.M until 4:00 P.M and 5:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M and Wednesday, June 3, 2026 from 1:00 P.M until 4:00 P.M and 5:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M at First Mennonite Church, Montgomery, Indiana.

A celebration of Jen’s life will be held on Thursday June 4, 2026, at 9:00am at First Mennonite Church, Montgomery, Indiana. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
