Jeffrey Louis Berry, aged 65, of Shoals
Jeffrey Louis Berry, aged 65, of Shoals, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home
with his family by his side on January 5, 2026.
Born on April 28, 1960, in Washington, Indiana, he was the beloved son of Delbert and
Theresa (Craney) Berry.
Jeffrey married Gayle (White) Berry on September 27, 1986.
He was a devoted member
of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and proudly served his community through
the Shoals Fire Department, Martin County Civil Defense, and the Martin County
ambulance service. Jeffrey retired after 47 years with INDOT, where he served as a
supervisor.
In addition to his career, he farmed and took great pride in that work. Above
all, Jeffrey cherished time spent with his family and enjoyed relaxing as an avid
YouTube watcher.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Charlie Berry.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Gayle; his mother, Theresa Berry; two
daughters: Angela and Kristen Berry; one son, Brad Berry; Siblings: Lisa (Scott)
Ruckriegel, Barb (Jeff) Hyllested, and Ronnie (Jean) Berry, and several nieces and
nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00
A.M. Friday, January 9, 2026, at St. Martin Catholic Church in Loogootee, Indiana, with
burial to follow at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held at on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at
Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee, Indiana, and again on Friday morning from 9:00
A.M. to 9:45 A.M. at St. Martin Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice.
