Jeffrey Dean (Jeff) Elliott, age 64, of Jasper

He fought a hard and brave battle against cancer since July 2, 2025. Jeff was born on July 8, 1961, in Jasper, Indiana, to Sarah Kay (Riester) and George David (Dave) Ellliott. Jeff was a devoted husband, father, son and son-in-law. He married Kimberly Kaye (Kim) Anderson on November 16, 1985, in the Otwell United Methodist Church. 

Jeff graduated from Jasper High School in 1979 and went on to obtain an Associative Degree from Ivy Tech in Evansville. He spent his career working in the manufacturing industry first at Thermwood and then at Kimball. Jeff spent the last twenty-two years working at Indiana Furniture Industries where he was an engineer involved in expansion and new technologies. He enjoyed working at IFI and especially working with his fellow department team members.

Jeff was very involved in his sons’ lives. He coached them in baseball in Ireland Youth Sports and soccer in the Jasper Youth Soccer League. He also dedicated his time to the Boy’s Basketball Booster Club during Kyle’s years with Jasper High School basketball. He had a passion for cooking that he shared with his son, Kade, and was always eager to try new foods when traveling. He loved the outdoors and looked forward every year to opening day of deer season with his son Kyle. Weather permitting, he was usually sitting under his favorite shade tree waiting for them to come home. 

Jeff was a supportive husband when Kim decided to go back to college and earn a second degree in teaching. He was very instrumental in the maintenance and upkeep of the Otwell Miller Academy donating many hours to the school. He was also attached to his two grand dogs, Peyton and Max. 

Jeff is survived by his wife of almost 41 years, Kim, his two sons Kyle (Jeanne) Elliott and Kade (Alejandro) Elliott Fonseca, his sister Debbie (Paul) Henderson, brother David Elliott, sister-in-law Angie (Steve) Merkley, four nephews Brandon Elliott, including god sons, Andrew DiFilippantonio, Andrew Merkley, and Evan Merkley, two nieces Erica Krebs and Tess Elliott, two great nieces and two great nephews.  

Jeff was preceded in death by his father in December 2025, his mother in January 2026, and his mother-in-law, Jo Anderson, in May 2026. 

A funeral service for Jeffrey D. Elliott will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the Old Shiloh Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. 

A visitation will be held from 3:00-6:45 p.m. prior to the service on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.

Jeff always had a positive attitude and a big smile. He was always willing to help others. To honor Jeff the family asks that you volunteer and help others. The family also requests no memorial gifts be sent to the funeral home. Jeff would want any donations to go toward helping others. Therefore, the family requests any donations be made to the Otwell Community Center, ℅ Robin Robinette, P.O. Box 157, Otwell, Indiana 47546. Make checks payable to the Otwell Community Center - designate for the gym.
