Jackie “Jack” Matteson, 90, of Washington

He was born November 30, 1933 in Petersburg, Indiana to the late Thurlow and Esta (Smith) Matteson. Jack was a self-employed painting contractor the majority of his adult life. He was an outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed mushroom hunting, gardening, and cooking. 

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marla Haynes; his parents, Thurlow and Esta Matteson; his siblings, Wallace Matteson and Patricia Chandler; and one brother-in-law, Robert Murray. 

Jack is survived by his children, Chris (Lynnette) Matteson of Winslow, Lisa Matteson and Yvonne Matteson, both of Washington; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joann Murray and Mildred Matteson; son-in-law, George Haynes; and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2024 at Blake & Wagler Funeral Home in Montgomery. Burial will follow in Sugarland Memory Gardens. A visitation will be held Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Blake & Wagler Funeral Home in Montgomery.
