Hilda June (Simpson) Wetzel of Dale

Hilda June (Simpson) Wetzel of Dale, Indiana passed away September 30, 2023 at Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 15, 1931 in Heilman, Indiana to Commodore and Stella Mae (Krause) Simpson.

Hilda was a 1949 graduate of Holland High School and was a member of Heilman General Baptist Church in Heilman, Indiana. She married James William (Bill) Wetzel June 11, 1949 and was blessed with 5 children.

Hilda was a loving mother, doting grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She loved visits from her children and all their families, family meant the world to her. She enjoyed being with all the children, playing ball, riding bikes and going on walks with the grandkids.

She is survived by Daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Wetzel, Daughters:  Shirley Ricklefs, Sandra (Mike)Tempel, and Barbara (John) McBride and son Gary (Carla) Wetzel.  Many nephews, nieces, and cousins and two sisters Lou Sattler and Sharon Kamman. Twelve grandchildren: John (Lisa) Wetzel, Brent (Erica) Wetzel, Alicia (Mike) Hawa, Joshua (Jacelyn) Tempel, Jessica (Mike) Casey, Jacqueline (Sid) Anthony, Erin (Kevin) Patmore, Garrett Wetzel, Hunter Wetzel, Erica McBride, Brittany (Jarrod) Bumm, Kendra (Austin) Gilpatrick. Twenty great-grandchildren:  Emma (Tucker) Gogel, Abby Wetzel, Ella and William Wetzel, Grayson, Nora, and Carson Hawa, Olivia and Samantha Casey, Aaron and Kaylee Tempel, Morgan and Elizabeth Anthony, Libby and Paige Patmore, Jace Rickenbaugh, Harley and Forrest Bumm, and Gracie Ashby and Kolson Gilpatrick And one great-great grandchild, Addison Gogel.

She was proceeded in death by her husband James (Bill), Son Larry and Brothers Harold, Jim, and infant Hermann.  Sisters Ruth, Mae, Wanda, and Dorothy. Son-in-law Alvin Ricklefs.

Funeral Services are planned for Friday Oct. 6 at 3 PM CST at Fuller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Dale Cemetery, Rev. Charlotte Lee will officiate.

Visitation will be Friday Oct. 6, from 11 AM CST till the servicetime at the Fuller Funeral Home.
