Herman Mills, 75, of St. Meinrad, passed away on October 14, 2026, at his home.
Herman was born on
January 23, 1951, to Ed and Elsie (Jones) Mills. He was united in marriage to Sue Ann Thompson on
October 4, 1997, in Ottawa, Illinois.
Herman retired from GE after 30 years in the mixing building. He enjoyed spending his free time going to
garage sales and thrifting items, photography of flowers, and spending time with his children,
grandchildren, and siblings, especially in his older years.
Herman is survived by his wife, Sue Ann, of 29 years; 2 daughters: Mandi (Jorge) Toribio of Cary, IL, and
Elisa (John) Herr of Magnolia, IL; grandchildren: Anna Toribio, David Toribio, Jade Syverson, Bailey Herr;
and one great-grandchild; brothers: Leon (Sally) Mills of San Marcos, TX, Robert (Nancy) Mills of
Compton, IL, Ed Mills of Mendota, IL; sisters: Dora Messer of Earlville, IL, Milly (Mike) Kyler of Malta, IL;
Bonnie (Tim) Albert of Utica, IL; Carolyn Mills, Peru, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson David Syverson; brother Carl Mills; sister in law Sally
Mills, brother in law Luther Messer.
Burial will be in Ottawa, IL. at a later date.
