Helen M. "Pee Wee" Giesler, age 75, of Ireland, Indiana, passed away at 9:46 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, in St. Vincent's Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana.
Helen was born in Ireland, Indiana, on October 27, 1944, to Karl and Hildegard "Hilda" (Hohler) Mehringer. She married Edward Giesler on November 26, 1964, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana.
Helen was a 1962 graduate of Ireland High School.
She worked at Dubois County Bank and then Old National Bank for a total of 47 years.
She was a parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana, where she was a member and past president of the St. Ann's Society, and member of the finance committee and parish council. She was also on the Ireland Sewer Board.
She enjoyed quilting, gardening, shopping, cooking, baking desserts, travelling, and collecting cookbooks and Hummel figurines.
Surviving are her husband, Ed Giesler, Ireland, IN, two daughters, Karla (Scott) Wigand, Jasper, IN, Mindy (Scott) Rankert, Plano, TX, two sons, Blake (Barb) Giesler, La Mirada, CA, Kyle (Janet) Giesler, Ireland, IN, 10 grandchildren, four step grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren, one sister, Franny (John) Stamm, Jasper, IN, and one brother, Gene (Dianne) Mehringer, Ireland, IN.
Preceding her in death are one sister, Rosemary "RoRo" Elmore and one brother, Norbert Mehringer.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Helen M. "Pee Wee" Giesler will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2020, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2020, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, and one hour before services from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the church on Saturday. Masks and social distancing are recommended.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Community Food Bank, or to a favorite charity.
