Gerald Lee “Jerry” Bueltel, age 77, of Huntingburg

Gerald Lee “Jerry” Bueltel, age 77, of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away at 5:03 a.m., on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Deaconess Memorial Medical Center in Jasper.


He was born to Clarence and Marie (Jarboe) Bueltel on April 9, 1949, and raised in St. Henry, Indiana.  Jerry married Georgia “Lynn” Ranger on September 18, 1982, at St. James Lutheran Church in Holland.  He graduated from Holland High School and played on the basketball team where he was the Dutchman’s All-Time Leading Scorer.  He went on to play basketball at McNeese State University in Louisiana.


Jerry was an over-the-road truck driver and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg.  He loved spending time with his family and friends.  Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; one son-in-law, Vincente Herrera; and one sister and brother-in-law, Lyra (Joe) Auffart.


He is survived by his wife, Georgia “Lynn” Bueltel of Huntingburg; five children, Brandon (Lynn) Bueltel of Las Vegas, Nevada, Brandalyn Weishaar of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jodie (Joe) Hobbs of Avon, Anna Herrera of Avon and Erin (Kevin) Cusick of Fenton, Missouri; eight siblings, Linda (Stan) Sermersheim of St. Anthony, David (Georgette) Bueltel of Huntingburg, Doris (Chris) Horn of Lynnville, Karen (Louis) Kern of Fulda, Jeff Bueltel of Huntingburg, Paula (Kevin) Lamey of Winslow, Lisa (Ron) ) Prior of Huntingburg and Bradley Bueltel of Huntingburg; and eight grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg.  Burial will follow at St. Henry Cemetery in St. Henry.
