Georgene "Jeanne" M. Wagner, age 91, of Ireland

 Georgene "Jeanne" M. Wagner, age 91, of Ireland, Indiana, passed away at 12:03 a.m. on Friday, August 14, 2020, in St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper, Indiana. 


Jeanne was born in Jasper, Indiana, on November 16, 1928, to George and Rose (Henke) Hochgesang.  She married Robert Wagner on November 16, 1948, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.  He preceded her in death on October 25, 1991. Jeanne was a homemaker and member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana, and the St. Ann's Society. She enjoyed bowling, watching sports, especially the Cincinnati Reds and Purdue and I.U. Sports. 


Surviving are nine children, Steve (Vicky) Wagner, Huntingburg, IN, Terry (Brenda) Wagner, Donald Wagner, Sam (Susan) Wagner, Tom (Mary) Wagner, Reynold (Pam) Wagner, all of Jasper, IN, Ronald (Sarah) Wagner, Ireland, IN, Rob (Christy) Wagner, Westfield, IN, Cheryl (Dan) Fromme, Portersville, IN, 29 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren, two sisters, Gloria Wehr, Roberta "Bert" (Gilbert) Neuhoff, both of Ireland, IN, and two brothers, Oscar and Gilbert Hochgesang, both of Jasper, IN. Preceding her in death besides her husband are three children, Ruth Wagner Delp, Randy Wagner, and Marsha Steckler, five sisters, Florence Kessler, Bernetta Tabeling, Carolyn Mehringer, and infants Loretta and Marie Hochgesang, and three brothers, Carl, Roman, and an infant Victor Hochgesang. 


A Mass of Christian Burial for Georgene "Jeanne" M. Wagner will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2020, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, and one hour before services at the church from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Tuesday.  The St. Ann's Society will pray a rosary at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or to a favorite charity.
