Dora Ann Clowdus, age 68, of Dale

Dora Ann Clowdus, age 68, of Dale, passed away at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at her home. 

She was born June 3, 1957, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to John William Bolen and Marjorie (Johnson) Baughn; and married Jerry Wayne Clowdus on March 21, 1991, in Tennessee.

Dora enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, gardening, and took great pride in caring for her beautiful flowers. She was a devoted caregiver to her mother and deeply cherished the time she spent with her family and her dear friend, Velda. 

She was preceded in death by her father; husband, Jerry Wayne Clowdus; son, Terry Joe “TJ” Nugent; sister, Marjorie Lynn Bolen; brother, Michael Scott Bolen; and grandson, Jason Nugent, Jr.  

Dora is survived by three children, Daniel Nugent of Rossville, TN, Patty Nugent of Loogootee, and Jason (Danielle Smith) Nugent of Shoals; her mother, Marjorie Baughn of Dale; one brother, John (Sue) Bolen of Heilman; one sister-in-law, Deaira Bolen, her best friend Velda Varner; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  

Memorial Services for Dora Ann Clowdus will be held at a later date.  Rainey Funeral Home in Dale has been entrusted with handling the arrangements. Memorial Contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society. Condolences may be shared online at www.raineyfuneralhome.com.
