Dixie J. Settle, age 88, of Jasper
Dixie J. Settle, age 88, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 5:35 a.m. on Monday, September 23, 2019, in the Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper, Indiana.
Dixie was born in Washington, Indiana, on June 26, 1931, to George and Irene Colbert. She married Ennis "Wes" Settle on September 4, 1954, and he preceded her in death on May 21, 2006.
She was graduate of Washington High School.
Dixie worked at Jasper Rubber and then became a business owner, where she did business management work.
She loved playing bingo and cards and going to the casino, and she was an avid sports fan.
Surviving are one son, Kent Settle, Perry Hall, MD, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death besides her husband are one son, Stuart Neil Settle, one sister and one brother.
A funeral service for Dixie J. Settle will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2019, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. Rev. Darrell Wineinger will officiate.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2019, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Purdue University Technology Center for cancer research or to a favorite charity.
