Dickie Dean “Dick” Crosby, 88, of Loogootee
Dickie Dean “Dick” Crosby, 88, of Loogootee, Indiana passed away
peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at
Serentiy Springs Senior Living at Jasper, Indiana.
He was born on February 2, 1938, in Washington, Indiana to Kelly and
Laura (Fox) Crosby.
Dick married Mary Louise Freyberger on December 19, 1964.
He was a
proud United States Army Veteran. He was a member of the Loogootee
American Legion Post 120, where he loved to participate in activities on
Memorial Day and help place flags.
Dick loved golf, he was a member of
the PGA Tour, he attended the Master’s ceremony every year. He was
considered a golf pro and taught many students how to play golf. He
worked as an overhead crane man in the Steel Industry for over 33 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Kelly and Laura Crosby, and his
brothers, Bill, Kenny, and Bing.
Dick is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Crosby, his sons, Brian Crosby,
Jason (Brenda) Crosby, his grandchildren, Tanya Crosby, Heather Gamblin,
Nicole Crosby, his great grandchildren, Brayton, Rickie, Talon “Scooter”
Crosby, Artie Gamblin, Serenity Gamblin, his brother, Dan Crosby, and
several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday February 12, 2026, at 1:00 P.M
at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee, Indiana with Phil Todd to officiate.
Burial and military rites will follow at Alfordsville Community Cemetery.
Friends may visit on Thursday February 12, 2026, from 11:00 A.M until
1:00 P.M at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American
Legion to help with Veterans Day Services.
