Debbie Jane Mackey Peters, 65, of Corydon

Debbie Jane Mackey Peters, 65, of Corydon, Indiana, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. A woman of unwavering faith, boundless love, and quiet strength, Debbie lived a life centered on Christ and dedicated to serving others through kindness, compassion, and prayer.

Her Christian faith was the foundation of everything she did. Debbie found great joy in studying God's Word, attending church, and sharing His love through both her words and her actions. She believed deeply in the power of prayer and trusted wholeheartedly in God's plan. Her gentle spirit, steadfast faith, and encouraging heart left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Above all else, Debbie was a devoted mother. Her greatest calling and proudest accomplishment was raising and homeschooling her only child, John Michael Peters. She poured her heart into his education, his character, and his faith, dedicating her life to ensuring he knew how deeply he was loved. John Michael was truly the light of her life, and every decision she made reflected her unwavering devotion to him.

Debbie also found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending afternoons thrift shopping in search of hidden treasures, often finding beauty and purpose in things others overlooked. She cherished time spent visiting with friends, sharing stories, laughter, and fellowship that created treasured memories over the years.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Paul Peters of Corydon, Indiana; her parents, Winifred "Winnie" James Mackey and J.D. Mackey of Utica, Kentucky; and her parents-in-law, Charles and Judith Peters of Santa Claus, Indiana.

Debbie leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved son, John Michael Peters, whose life was her greatest blessing. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Bryan (Wanda) Peters of Fairfield, Illinois, and Aaron (Andrea) Peters of Huntingburg, Indiana; her sister-in-law, Julie O'Connor of Murphysboro, Illinois; and her cherished nieces and nephew, Elizabeth Peters, Bryce Peters, and Emma Peters, along with many dear friends whose lives were enriched by her faithful example, warm smile, and caring heart.

Though her earthly journey has ended, Debbie's legacy of faith, unconditional love, and unwavering devotion to her family lives on. She now rests in the eternal peace she so faithfully anticipated, reunited with those who have gone before her and forever in the presence of her Savior.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Debbie's life on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time at Graceland Church, 3600 Kamer Miller Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150.
