Cheryl A. Hurst, age 59, of Jasper

Cheryl was born in Jasper, Indiana, on July 28, 1967, to Ralph and Dororthy (Knust) Keusch.  She married Todd Hurst on August 10, 1996, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana.

She was a 1985 graduate of Jasper High School.  She then earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Indiana University and a Master’s Degree in Education from Indiana Wesleyan University.

She was a high school math teacher at various schools and most recently at Pike Central High School, where she retired after almost 30 years of service.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland.

Cheryl enjoyed golfing, going to the casino with her mom and sister, going for walks with her family and friends and her dog Archie, and spending time with her family and friends.  In addition, she was an avid Indiana University sports fan.

Surviving is her husband, Todd Hurst, Jasper, IN, two daughters, Madeline Hurst, Austin, TX, and Jessica (Leth) Sundling, Key West, FL, her mother, Dororthy Keusch, Jasper, IN, two sisters, Vicki (Steve) Moore, Jasper, IN, and Debbie (Tad) Keusch Allen, Jasper, IN, two brothers, Kevin (Martha) Keusch, Jasper, IN, and Terry (Amy) Keusch, Indianapolis, IN, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death is her father, Ralph Keusch.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Cheryl A. Hurst will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 2, 2026, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

A visitation will be held from Noon to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.
