Charlene R. Egloff, 78, of Ferdinand
Charlene R. Egloff, 78, of Ferdinand passed away peacefully surrounded by
family on Saturday, September 19th, at Scenic Hills at the Monastery in
Ferdinand.
Charlene was born on May 31, 1948, in Huntingburg to Ralph and
Rosalee (Thacker) Singer. She was united in marriage to Marvin “Merf” Egloff
on September 21, 1968, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg. Marvin
preceded her in death on February 3, 2019.
Charlene was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church. She
graduated from Huntingburg High School, class of 1966. Charlene was a
United States Navy veteran. She worked as a CNA at the Sisters of St.
Benedict in Ferdinand. Charlene was also very involved with the family
business, Egloff Trucking where she did the bookkeeping.
Surviving are one son Jeff Egloff of Keizer, OR.; two granddaughters: Erin
(Alec) Springel of Beaverton, OR., and Jenna Egloff of Keizer, OR.; one sister
Phyllis Roberts of Florida, and three brothers, Gordon Singer of Huntingburg,
Gary (Rita) Singer of Tell City, and Donald Singer of Indiana.
Charlene was
preceded in death by her parents, one sister Peggy Blaze, and two brothers,
Rick and Terry Singer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM EDT on Friday September
25th in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church
cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 AM until the service time at the church.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Sister of St.
Benedict.
