Blake M. Kalb, age 41, of Dubois

Blake M. Kalb, age 41, of Dubois, Indiana, passed away at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at home.
 
Blake was born in Huntingburg, Indiana, on February 24, 1978, to Morris and  Lynn (Mehringer) Kalb. He married Erin Striegel on August 16, 2003, in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana.
 
Blake was a 1996 graduate of Northeast Dubois High School.  He also received his Associate's Degree in Agri-Business from Vincennes University.
 
He was a lifetime farmer and seed dealer for DeKalb Seeds.
 
He was the 5th grade girls basketball assistant coach, was a little league coach, and he served as a past little league board member.
 
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana, where he previously served on the church council and was a past church council president.  He was a member of the Northeast Dubois Athletic Booster Club,  and the Dubois County Farm Service Agency, where he served as vice chair for the County Committee.
 
He enjoyed all sports, including Northeast Dubois Athletics, Indiana University sports, the Indianapolis Colts, and the St. Louis Cardinals.  He particularly loved attending all events that his children participated in, and spending time with family and friends.
 
Surviving are his wife, Erin Kalb, Dubois, IN, four children, Ty, Adalie, Kole, and Ashtyn Kalb, all at home in Dubois, IN, his parents, Morris and Lynn Kalb, Dubois, IN,  one sister, Kyla (Mark) Buechlein, Jasper, IN, his mother-in-law, Sue Striegel, Dubois, IN, sister-in law and brother-in-law, Brandi (Steve) Dodd, Dubois, IN, and one niece and one nephew, Brooklyn and Aidan Dodd, both at home in Dubois, IN.
Preceding him in death are his maternal grandparents, Helen and Urban Mehringer, paternal grandparents, Chester and Oleta Kalb, and his father-in-law, Jerry Striegel.
A funeral service for Blake M. Kalb will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2020, in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
A visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. until the 4:00 p.m. service time at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Haysville, Indiana.
