Beverly Ann Abel, age 81, of Jasper

Beverly Ann Abel, age 81, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 4:32 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, in Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana. 

Beverly was born in Otwell, Indiana, on August 29, 1940, to Hilbert and Wilma (Weisheit) Buchta.  

Beverly was a graduate of Otwell High School and went on to Lockyear Business College in Evansville.  

She worked as an office manager for Alco Dime Store based in Shoals, Indiana.  

She was a member of Traylor-Union Church in the Burr Oak community and the Rusk Homemakers Club in Shoals. 

Beverly enjoyed gardening and spending time with family.  

Surviving is her son; Ernest Abel, Burns City, Indiana, three sisters; Janice (Delmas) Hamm, Petersburg, IN, Fay (Kenneth) Smith, Otwell, IN and Bonnie Buchta, Jasper, IN, one brother; Larry (Dorothy) Buchta, Columbus, IN and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.   

Preceding her in death was one sister, Kay Lamb.  

A funeral service for Beverly Ann Abel will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Traylor-Union Cemetery in Otwell, Indiana. Mark Hamaker will officiate.  

A visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 15, 2021, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.
