Barbara Agatha Stoll, 91, of Loogootee

She was born on October 14, 1934, in Rugby, North Dakota to the late Joseph and Carolina (Vetsch) Hornstein. 

Barbara married John Stoll on September 15, 1953, beginning their 59 years of marriage, and he preceded her in death on December 27, 2012. 

Barbara was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bramble, Indiana. She found great joy in caring for her family and home, spending her life as a devoted homemaker, until her children grew up and she began to work outside of the home in various places. She was also a member of the Alter Society of Christian Mothers and cherished the time she spent serving her faith and community. 

She loved to spend her time outdoors, especially farming and gardening. During her years as a military wife, she had the opportunity to travel and see new places, making memories and developing stories to share and carry with her throughout her life. 

She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Carolina; her husband John; her son, John Stoll II; and 10 siblings. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Peggy (Jerry) Padgett; grandchildren, Joel (Anita) Padgett, Melanie Beckett, Michelle (Eric) Ringwald, Amanda (Nathan) Pruss, Sarah Stoll; her sister, Alice Myrum; 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 11:00 A.M on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bramble, Indiana. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, from 4:00 P.M to 7:00 P.M at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee, Indiana, and again on Friday from 10:00 A.M to 10:45 A.M at the church.
