Women Empowering Women to Host Talk on Mammography and Breast Health

From Local Sources

JASPER -- The Dubois County women’s leadership organization, Women Empowering Women (WEW), will gather on Wednesday, February 13, at the St. Joseph Church Parish Center, 1029 Kundek Street in Jasper.  Doors will open at 11:30am for networking before the meeting begins at 11:45am.  This event is open to all prospective and current WEW members.

WEW welcomes Dr. Lokender Bommisetty as he shares important information about mammography and breast health.  Recent advances in mammography, such as 3D imaging, are especially beneficial in women with dense breast tissue. Even with the tools and technologies, it is even more critical for women to be aware of breast cancer and take steps to undergo regular screening.

Dr. Bommisetty received his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio and completed a medical internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He also completed a radiology residency and a breast imaging fellowship at West Penn Allegheny Health System in Pittsburgh.

Dr. Bommisetty has been a member of the active medical staff at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center since 2017 and is certified by the American Board of Radiology.  He currently serves as the Medical Director of Memorial Hospital’s Women’s Center and has led several efforts to bring the latest technologies to the Women’s Center for breast cancer screening and detection.

Advanced reservations are required for members and guests.  Reservations should be made by calling the Jasper Chamber of Commerce at 812-482-6866 or by emailing [email protected] by Friday, December 7. The cost for lunch is $5.00 per person and is payable at the door.

The mission of Women Empowering Women is to inspire women in business to reach their highest potential by instilling confidence, building networks, and promoting community in Dubois County. Membership is open to any woman in business who lives or works in Dubois County.
