While Shipping Drugs
On Friday, April 24 th , at approximately 3:50 pm, Daviess County
Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) Special Investigations Unit (SIU) detectives arrested a suspect while he
was attempting to ship drugs at a local business.
This investigation began several weeks ago when SIU received information from members of the
community regarding the suspect’s involvement in drug trafficking. SIU detectives conducted
multiple controlled purchases of anabolic steroids from the suspect during the investigation and
were conducting surveillance on him Friday when he went to a shipping business on Southtown
Blvd. in Owensboro. Detectives approached him at the store to arrest him on charges associated
with the previous controlled purchases and located additional suspected anabolic steroids in his
possession that he was preparing to ship. He was taken into custody and a search warrant was
obtained for his vehicle and his apartment in the 2100 block of Carpenter Drive in Owensboro.
During the execution of those search warrants additional evidence was located including a cooler
in the vehicle that contained suspected anabolic steroids and syringes. In the apartment,
detectives located suspected anabolic steroids, packaging vials and labels, printed instructions on
how to mix ingredients to produce anabolic steroids, scales, syringes, and a loaded shotgun and
rifle.
All of the evidence was seized and logged into DCSO property. The additional suspected
anabolic steroids will be sent to the KSP laboratory for analysis. The suspect was lodged in the
Daviess County Detention Center. This is an ongoing investigation and additional charges are
likely.
